History
José "Pepín" García is a Cuban-born torcedor who emigrated to Miami in 2003. After founding El Rey de los Habanos in 2003 and producing for several boutique brands, he established My Father Cigars in 2008 as the flagship for his own editorial direction. The Garcia family operates the factory at Estelí, Nicaragua, and produces both their own labels and contract production for several other premium brands.
The Lineup
My Father Le Bijou 1922: The flagship. Habano Oscuro wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler, with the Cuban-style draw and burn behavior that distinguishes the Garcia output. Le Bijou Torpedo and Robusto are the calibration formats. Cigar Aficionado named the Le Bijou Torpedo the 2015 Cigar of the Year, which accelerated the brand's commercial growth substantially.
My Father Original Blend: The 2010 release that defined the marca's house style. Habano sun-grown wrapper, more accessible than Le Bijou, the introduction-tier cigar to the family's editorial direction.
My Father La Promesa, La Antiguedad, and other branded lines: The supporting product range, each occupying a slightly different position in the body-weight and price spectrum.
The KCS Verdict
My Father Le Bijou 1922 Torpedo scores 95. The flavor is the most-Cuban-feeling experience available in current Nicaraguan production — leather, cocoa, espresso, with the layered evolution that distinguishes Cuban-tradition rolling. Construction is exceptional; Pepín García's torcedor training shows in the cap precision and the burn line behavior. Balance is the marca's defining quality — the wrapper-binder-filler integration is among the best in modern production. Value is solid at $14–18 per stick.
